Request+ integrates with Apple Music through Cider, a third-party Apple Music desktop client that exposes an RPC bridge Request+ can read and control.
Cider requires a valid Apple Music subscription to play full tracks.

Setup

1

Install Cider

Purchase and download Cider from cider.sh and sign in with your Apple ID. v3 or v4.
2

Enable the RPC bridge (v4 ONLY)

In Cider, open Settings → Connectivity and enable RPC (sometimes called WebSocket API or Cider Connect). Note the port if it isn’t the default.

2b. Install the Cider Plugin (v3 ONLY)

Follow the video guide on how to install the Cider v3 Plugin here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dnW_UvwEyA
4

Connect from Request+

In Request+, open Settings → Music → Apple Music, and choose your Cider version.
If on v4, check the Cider application!
On v3, make sure the plugin is enabled!
5

Verify

Play a track in Cider — it should appear in Request+ within a second or two.

Supported actions

  • Play / pause
  • Skip / previous
  • Seek
  • Volume
  • Shuffle / repeat
  • Like
  • Queue requested tracks

Troubleshooting

Re-check Cider’s RPC setting. Some Cider versions ship with RPC disabled by default after an update.
Cider’s RPC surface varies by version. Update Cider to the latest release to maximize supported actions.
