Cider requires a valid Apple Music subscription to play full tracks.
Setup
1
Install Cider
Purchase and download Cider from cider.sh, then sign in with your Apple ID.
2
Pick Apple Music in Request+
In Request+, open Settings -> Platform Settings -> Main Platform and choose Apple Music (Cider). Request+ will ask Which Cider version?.
3
If you use Cider 4
Choose Cider 4. Request+ will show a Connect Cider 4 flow and send an authorization request to Cider. Approve the Request+ prompt inside Cider; Request+ stores the returned Cider 4 API token automatically.
4
If you use Cider 3
Choose Cider 3. Install and enable the Request+ Cider 3 plugin, then paste your Cider API token into the Cider API Token field if your Cider setup requires one. Follow the Cider 3 plugin video guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dnW_UvwEyA.
5
Verify
Play a track in Cider. It should appear in Request+ within a second or two, and the overlay should update with the current Apple Music track.

Troubleshooting
Cider 4 token prompt does not appear
Cider 4 token prompt does not appear
Make sure Cider 4 is open before clicking Connect Cider 4 in Request+. If the request fails, wait a few seconds and try again; Request+ briefly cools down failed token requests.
Cider 4 connected but no track appears
Cider 4 connected but no track appears
Reopen Cider and Request+, then use Refresh Cider 4 Token from Request+‘s Apple Music settings. Cider 4 uses a scoped token, so Request+ needs the token before it can read playback, control audio, manage the queue, or update library state.
Cider 3 does not update Request+
Cider 3 does not update Request+
Make sure the Cider 3 plugin is installed and enabled. Cider 3 sends playback updates through the local Request+ WebSocket bridge, so Request+ and Cider both need to be running.
