Request+ is a tray application. Clicking the X on the window only hides the app — it keeps running in the background so chat stays connected and the overlay keeps updating.
If you connected or reconnected a chat platform in the dashboard, the desktop client won’t pick it up until you fully quit and reopen it. Closing the window is not enough.

When you need to restart

Fully restart Request+ after any of these:
  • Connecting a new chat platform (Twitch / Kick / YouTube)
  • Disconnecting or reconnecting a chat platform
  • Applying an app update

Quit from the system tray

1

Open the tray

Click the ^ arrow in the bottom-right of the taskbar to show hidden icons.
2

Find the Request+ icon

Look for the Request+ logo in the tray.
3

Right-click → Quit

Right-click the icon and choose Quit (or Exit). The process fully terminates.
4

Reopen Request+

Launch Request+ from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. Chat and music connections re-initialize on startup.
If the tray icon is unresponsive, open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), find Request+ under Processes, and click End task.

Why does it run in the tray?

Keeping Request+ in the tray means:
  • Chat stays connected even when you minimize the window.
  • The overlay keeps updating in OBS / Streamlabs.
  • You can hide the window during your stream without dropping requests.
If you’d rather close fully when clicking X, change the setting under Settings → General → Close button behavior.
